A POPULAR action series based on a hit film has been cancelled after just one series.
True Lies was a reboot of James Cameron’s hit 1994 action comedy movie which starred Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jamie Lee Curtis.

The news of its axing comes just days before the season one finale, which is set to air on May 17.
The TV version of True Lies – which is available on Disney+ in the UK – starred Steve Howey and Ginger Gonzaga.
It followed Harry (Howey), a first-class international spy for U.S. intelligence agency Omega Sector, and his wife, Helen (Gonzaga), a language professor bored with her daily routine.
Helen is shocked to discover that her seemingly ordinary husband is leading an extraordinary double life.
The series also starred Erica Hernandez, Omar Miller, Mike O’Gorman, Annabella Didion, and Lucas Jaye.
The news came as CBS made decisions on a number of other programmes on its roster.
It also chose not to renew cop drama East New York after just one series.
But after public outcry at the cancellation of S.W.A.T last week, CBS made a shock U-turn and decided to renew it for a seventh season after all.
However, that will become its final series.
